In anticipation of the upcoming BPM Asia Pacific Forum on the 19th October 2010, we have posted results from last year’s BPM-Maturity Survey hosted during an interactive session by Imre Hegedus Consulting. This survey will be revisted at this year’s forum for the third year in a row.

The BPMM describes an evolutionary improvement path that guides organizations in moving from immature, inconsistent business activities to mature, disciplined processes. The BPMM consists of 5 stages of organizational maturity that represent plateaus in an organization’s improvement journey. Business process management (BPM) offers a new and exciting way to view an organisation. It breaks the business down into a collection of practical and effective processes rather than clustering departments in a traditional manner. Effective implementation of BPM can provide constructive work environments, reduced costs and increased business revenue that is becoming a significant trend within public and private sector organisations in Australia. However, many organisations are finding it difficult to effectively integrate BPM into business. Issues such as aligning BPM with organisational culture, planning for change, addressing governance and strategy, achieving process maturity, and showing the value of process modelling are integral contributors in elevating staff morale and performance and must therefore consistently be kept at an optimal standard.
